Does anyone else feel that today's tribute was better for the fact that Ruth and Eamonn were at the helm rather than Phil & Holly? I can't explain why but it added a sense of decorum I think may have been lacking otherwise.

It's bad enough when Holly in particular puts on her faux sympathy face as she did during the Brussels terrorist attack. Ideally TM would wheel out Ruth and Eamonn for when the show does big news stories.
However they got the tone right for Denise, just the right mix of tributes and appropriate pre-booked guests.
On another note, Rylan Clark has been excellent on TM. He's found his niche on the show.
Just caught up with the first half an hour of the show from this morning. What a fitting tribute to Denise, especially the report on Denise's life and legacy. Nice to see tributes from Phillip, Holly, Fern, Richard and Judy.

Absolutely. I've always considered Ruth and Eamonn far superior hosts.
I've watched a few episodes recently and Eamonn's brief return today was refreshing. I forgot how strong a presenter he was, especially when reading the statement from Denise's family.
Someone once posted here that Denise wasn't particularly fond of Phil & Holly's partnership (she was very close to Fern during her reign) and actually watching some Phil/Holly/Denise phone ins on YouTube today I've found myself frustrated at the way the presenters dish out their own advice and talk over Denise.
