So going from that above clip being from 2000, I presume that these titles:

...were very short lived? I'm guessing that the show went widescreen sometime in 2000/2001 (September 2000 maybe? As that's usually when ITV daytime shows have a refresh or rebrand) and so those new titles were made, but were only used for a brief period as Richard and Judy left in July 2001. Again, I presume that these titles continued to be used until September 2001 when Twiggy and Coleen Nolan began their ill-fated tenure as hosts

Don't forget in those days This Morning broke up for summer, so Richard & Judy left on the last Thursday of the series. Friday's episode as I recall was an OB with (I think) Kay Adams and someone else giving a house away.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a version of those titles without Richard & Judy but I'm happy to be corrected.

Yes I had forgotten about that, actually! Has that only started recently in the last 5-10 years?

There was a Fern & John version of the 2000/2001 titles. I'm not sure if there was a generic one.

What I can't quite remember is what happened in Sept. 2002. I have a feeling that John went to Mon-Fri with Fern and Schofe was the Friday replacement for John and then took over after the Matthew Wright on air accusation. Did Fern step up to 5 days a week or did Colleen stay on at the start of the week?

Also I suppose it wasn't really a rival show as it was on an hour at 9:25, so rivalling Trisha if anything.

Obviously Sky's attempt to get in on the daytime chat market which probably lasted about five minutes.

I think that's the timeslot it ended up in. But when it started iirc she used to present for about 45 minutes then link to repeats (ER, Veronica's Closet etc) and then return throughout the morning between the repeats for 20/30 minute slots.

More info about Lorraines Sky show, along with some rumoured replacements for Richard and Judy: http://www.theguardian.com/media/2001/may/30/broadcasting.uknews
Quote:
ITV chiefs have not yet decided on replacements for their morning programme. Fern Britton, who presents This Morning on Fridays, has been "road-tested" with her TV chef husband, Phil Vickery.

Others linked to the show have been the Changing Rooms host Carol Smillie and her husband, Alex Knight; Live Talk's Kaye Adams and Radio 5 Live DJ Nicky Campbell; chef Jamie Oliver and his wife, Jules; and GMTV's John Stapleton and Penny Smith.

I think Colleen had gone by Sept 2002 and I'm sure initially Fern hosted with Phil on the Fridays, but probably not for long. Not quite sure when Lorraine joined - Wiki says 2003 but links to a story saying she signed a deal in July 2004 to start in the September, though I suspect she'd already been doing the odd show by then. I think Ruth was in the mix too before she officially took the Friday role in 2006. Denise Van Outen and Richard Bacon hosted the first summer run in 2005.

I seem to recall Lorraine's Sky 1 show came on air immediately after the GMTV one finished, and was a GMTV Production for Sky. It lasted one series, it was definitely on during 2002 (the orange era). I also remember bizarrely they showed mid 1990s repats of Brookside straight after Lorraine.

As said it was an attempt by Sky to cash in on the morning schedule, but didn't last long.

Just having a quite look through social media and a lot of people very angry and annoyed that Ruth & Eamonn don't feature in the title sequence. Very poor decision by ITV.

Don't know if anyone is bothered but during today's show while cooking with Jamie Oliver, Phil had a mini camrea to show the food from his view. While doing so he showed what was the old performance area. It is now nothing. Just a blank dark space for the cameras.

Also noticed today that the This Morning logo on the break stings is now set inside a white circle rather than appearing directly over what is on screen.

I wonder if they realised that the colour of the logo clashed with the background, more so if they didn't blur the action (put the camera out of focus) behind it. They could have just changed the colour to white but instead they've put a translucent white circle behind it.

I wouldn't be surprised if before long they just go back to having a traditional bumper, otherwise they'll have to teach guests not to get up as soon as they stop talking!
