I like what they've done with the place. Again keeping the brick work and adapting around it means that they were able to totally transform over the weekend with no major structural changes.

I'm not so convinced on the 'makeover entrance' area which houses the tall table and stools. It seems very bare compared to the shelving and chairs from the previous set. It was a handy area for soap gossip, horoscopes, Martin Lewis, consumer items, etc. And also to throw to a VT. The first hour of this mornings was just presented from the central sofa area which made it feel very stationary than normal.

I imagine that the screens will be kept in the performance area. It will be good to see a change to the makeover area as that has been kept the same for many years.

The new sofa area isn't great, but I expect will get some minor alterations to make it work better over time or at Christmas. It could do with less cushions to start with!

The secondary area seems a bit bare and actually hasn't changed much other than less furniture. Again, I expect it will probably be altered over time.

The main area is nice, kitchen is good and the rest is yet to be seen! I also think the brickwork has been changed - it looks lighter and the mortar is darker.

Are people in Scotland allowed to view that?

Now that I've compared them they do appear to be lighter - the older ones being red brick with a dark mortar effect. A lot more work that simple furniture that I first thought.

The kitchen appears to be the B&Q one but painted with the duck egg blue as have the pillars.

Unfortunately how homely they have tried to make it feel with the sofa works sofas there is a reason that TV sofas are generally solid with a foam top. The new sofa area looked awful with Holly & Phil sinking into them with cushions all around them.

This morning really should try and make more of an effect to use that view of the thames, like it used to do with Liverpool.

This just looks better...

The Liverpool set up was on a the same level as Albert Dock. The London studio is higher up so this limits what can be seen.

I love what they've done with the old Hub! Makes it look homely and comfortable. The Hub was pretty much a waste of space! Glad to see the back of it.

No sting for the opening of the news bulletin and cut to Nina half way through Phil's introduction

The Hub is gone... not to return.

JCB seems to think differently.

They haven't. It's moved and hasn't been finished yet.

Apologies, when I glanced over the article on the website I thought i'd read the hub would debut later in the week....but obviously I completely misread.
