This is the gallery if it helps and it looked HD to me too.

Yeah, I just posted this a few entries up Smile

I think we can now all agree that the programme is in full HD...

I stand corrected, when Loose Woman switched to HD there was a little period where it was good upscaled but not quite HD.

Is there any reason why they've ditched the news headlines? Mind you, they only used to last 30 seconds, didn't they?

AIUI the This Morning studio was upgraded to HD (i.e. HD cameras and connectivity) but the gallery wasn't. I believe they may be using the Studio 7 gallery, which was upgraded to HD for Daybreak.

Either it's HD or it isn't. You don't get 'not quite HD'. You get bad SD and good SD, just like you get bad HD and good HD (though thankfully bad HD is quite rare)

I suspect Loose Women may have got HD cameras before they went fully HD, so the SD picture quality improved a bit (as HD cameras downscaled to SD often look better than SD native cameras), and thus looked like better SD when upscaled to HD.

It was only about 2 minutes long. Either way that's just over 8 hours less off their yearly News quota. They've lost the overnight bulletins and the Morning News within the past few years so to lose another bulletin, albeit a very short one, must be having an effect on their quota from Ofcom.

ITV have to show on average an hour a day of national news and that includes ad breaks. Overnight news didn't count as part of the quota, it has to be between 9:25 and Midnight. ITV show 1.5 hours during the week, about 40 mins at weekends, but in any case they are way over.

When you consider in recent years ITV dropped the afternoon one, plus the regional morning one, then BBC1 dropped all morning updates and then later the afternoon update, also including regional, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. The idea of regular news updates throughout daytime seems to be from a past era.

I'm not a fan of the ..with Phillip and Holly, if I'm honest. I just hope that they've made titles for Ruth and Eamonn

In the titles, Phil looks a bit annoyed that he has to walk past Gok Wan if you look closely!

Do you mean walking past Rylan in the titles? It's terribly edited to make it look like a different angle of the same shot yet the windows are green at one angle and then white at the other. I'm most probably being very pernickety.

As for the studio with dark days, could those voiles at the sides of each window be a covering for that purpose? Saying that I'm not sure that they would fit.

Completely agree with you! I hope Friday we will see different titles with Eamonn and Ruth in. Do you think that they will update their website, twitter and facebook accounts though every Friday? They all have the "phillip and holly" tag currently. I highly doubt it, but we'll have to wait and see Friday.

The ikegami cameras remained until the complete studio 3 infrastructure was upgraded to hd.
