It sounds very much like the full 2009 closing titles.
Brilliant and much better than with the muffled Eamonn & Ruth in the background.
That photo does make the studio seem a whole lot bigger, if anything it appears that more light is flooding in - though this could have something to do with the scaffolding on the outside.
I hope that it is a bit more open plan, but we'll have to wait to see what goes in. I wonder if the wooden flooring is going throughout as unlike the wood effect vinyl that was just in the centre sofa lounge area the wood flooring would have a slight step up.
I think that the brick apartment feel has worked well for them, creating a home feel on the screen. I feel that it's time for something else hopefully equally homely, but not cluttered.
I've had a go at removing the vocal, though I've ended up with a noticeable jump where Eamonn & Ruth stop talking. Is anyone a whizz at audacity to know how to rectify it?

The first couple of years of Phil & Fern's era had the widest view of the windows. Not only did they have less 'framing' but also I think the chairs were much closer to them, giving them the illusion that they were even bigger.
In Richard & Judy's days, much of the windows were always obscured with flowers and all the tat they had dotted around (a throwback to the Albert Dock era)

I think the first Phil & Fern set was the one posted earlier with Gloria & Cliff.
I much preferred the short lived next set - possibly the one that you're talking about whataday. It seemed a lot less cluttered and had the lovely colour changeable side panels.

It looks like the ITV News update may have been dropped. All next week the programme just runs from 10:30 to 12:30 on the EPG.

Whenever I see Phil and Holly crack up, I can't help but think it'd be more of a joyous occasion if Fern was there. Can't help but think sometimes that they force those moments nowadays.
Ah good times, when Phil & Fern used to laugh their heads off.

It was certainly forced in the last year or so of Fern's tenure.

But she has admitted to having a mouth full of beef on air before!
I can't imagine Holly admitting to dunking the beef.
