Very true. I suppose it all depends on what the titles are going to be like.
The current system of having just a shot of the presenters at the start works very well IMO in the brilliant Lambie Nairn '09 titles and the 2013 - current. This works especially for the odd show when you get totally different people hosting rather than the pre 2005-9 versions centred solely around the presenters. After seeing them edit Phillip & Amanda and Phillip & Christine pictures on to the titles I do wonder why they haven't done a Rochelle & Marvin version - it's not like they just pop up on the odd occasion, I suppose they're considered the C team now - though why Ben Shepherd and Lisa Faulkner hosted the other week is anyones guess - potentially Rochelle's Xtra Factor commitments.

I agree - it's a simple and effective way to include the presenters but be able to adapt the images if needed - or if for whatever reason they don't at least it is kind of blink and you miss it - by the time the presenters are revealed you've probably forgotten who was pictured in the opening shot.

Does the content of the show change much when Rochelle & Marvin host - I can't see them handling the newsier items really.

Not generally. I suppose Friday's contain a bit more entertainment. They usually have a guest or two relating to the news, somebody who has been in the news for a reason or a serious story.

Is This Morning already shooting in HD, even if it's an SD broadcast? I only ask because some of their recent YouTube uploads seem to be very high definition.

Are these uploads studio material or packages?

The studio shots certainly do not look HD

The only thing that is HD from their channel is the ITV bumper intro at the beginning, all upscaled.

Their studio operation is still very SD.

I'm trying to think of a way to put this delicately, but I can't. In a clip I saw the other day, Ruth's face was looking very lined in the same way I've noticed other presenters when a programme is in HD. In the past I've not noticed it before.

Oh I was about to ask (once again!) when will TM be in HD...btw just noticed in the last week so or so ITV don't bother with the 'hd' after itv now with it's dog. I guess it makes sense as 98% of output is HD apart from TM still...

So can we expect some HDHW from the 9th is it ? Live in hope I guess !
