It’s an all-new look, Holly’s back, and we’ve got some brilliant ideas – things that we’ve not done before – and that’s quite hard to do for a show that’s been running for such a long time… we are really looking forward to September.

So a new look is on the cards it seems. I wonder if the filming was for new titles or just for the promo.

Will the set change as most of it was only introduced last year.

Just a thought regards the recent #somethingscoming tweets, involving the mysterious footprints, discussed on GMB. I wonder if these may be in relation to a new look for This Morning?

Isn't the actual building that the This Morning is filmed in getting a major update? (Including HD cameras)

Hopefully there will be a brand new set; the existing set has been largely the same for many years, just with a new kitchen, sofa and colour scheme each year.

Most of the other TLS studios are already HD. The This Morning one seems to be the only one that isn't, well at least the only one regularly used by an HD broadcaster at any rate.

AIUI there are rumblings that there are plans for the This Morning studio to be upgraded with HD cameras (they may have them already), but for the current gallery not to be upgraded, and instead for one of the existing HD galleries at TLS to be used instead. They were only rumblings last I heard - but that may well be the route they take.

Philip Schofield claims he'd resign from TM if Holly didn't return from maternity leave.

The whispers were that there was going to be a total rebuild which would mean relocation. I would like to see a rebuild too. The space they have to play with is not brilliant and the outside looks really scruffy too.

Wasn't it something to do with the space not fully being owned by ITV Studios?

I doubt they'd move unless they had to, though perhaps the original Daybreak studio would be an option if they did, though not sure it's big enough to accomodate the current number of presentation areas they have.

If they were to do that they'd have to restrict the areas and be clever about the arrangement and maybe do the work over the middle of the year where they could use the balcony area.

The thing is that the set has looked the same since September 2006 minus re-painting, re-wallpapering and the additions of the kitchen and the hub.
The set is really in need of a total revamp and ITV has been HD in various guises since 2006. It's about time their flagship daytime programme became HD too.
They could have used this Summer to be off the air and carry out the work. Otherwise I think the suggestions of decamping to Studio 7 temporarily or even permanently is feasible.

Well let's ee what happens; not that long to go until September 1st.

True. They can't change the layout much because of the windows. They did replace the 'brick walls' last September.
I'm a bit sick of the fake brick walls on all programmes. I much preferred the short lived set featured in this video, I think it was only around for 2005-2006.
