Absolutely agree. I guess by the time Phil steps down Ben Shepherd will be free once again, though Dermot isn't a bad shout at all considering how he has spoken in the past about live TV. As long as it's not Stephen Mulhern they should be OK.

To be honest though I suspect Holly would step down before Phil and there are probably more options in replacing her. And as much as I like Eammon and Ruth now Loose Women is her main role I do think it would be wise to step them down and bring in fresh blood on Fridays - if for no other reason than to line up potential replacements for Holly and Phil.

Ben hosted on Friday with Lisa Faulkner.

Totally agree whataday. No matter what you think of the current editorial content, Holly's hiring, the programme rebrand and the different features introduced have helped the show over the last few years. I for one have missed Holly a lot and feel that Phillip and herself have a brilliant chemistry that makes the programme watchable. Something that I don't find as much when Phillip presents with somebody else.

Yet is still trounced by BBC One's pre-recorded daytime output, admittedly by older viewers who prefer shows about antiques and homes over tabloid banality which caters to younger housewives.

Though it still beats the BBC daytime shows hands-down at the NTA's. The show has won 'Best Daytime' for the last few years.

Martin Frizell is now the Editor of This Morning (sine July 2015). It will be interesting to see if it gets a more newsier format as he originates from GMTV and was brought in to make Loose Women more journalistic last series.

Sacked at GMTV. Hardly revitalised Loose Women. Will probably fail at This Morning and still get another job at ITV. This Morning seems to be constantly yo-yoing from going between more journalistic and less journalistic.

I can't see how Frizell will reinvent the wheel at This Morning with it's continual downmarket women's weekly magazine format.

Now if was to get rid of Schofe and Holly and replace them full time with Eamonn and Ruth, who are the masters of mixing the downmarket with the more serious topics, then I'd get excited.

Until then, expect Holly Willoughby to giggle inappropriately at a story or get angry with Katie Hopkins.

Who has Martin Frizell replaced at This Morning? This Morning runs smoothly and fine without any Loose Women style intervention.

Ogden has gone back to Saturday night takeaway. Frizell has been in charge for months. I don't think he did a bad job on Loose Women. He seems to have halted the ratings decline there.

Are we expecting some kind of relaunch of This Morning on September 1st; we saw the Tweet of Holly and Phil filming new Opening Titles a while back. I just hope it doesn't go down the Loose Women route; as a Man I find features on This Morning very interesting and always have right from it's launch in 1988; I wouldn't like to suddenly switch off when I am there to see it.

I agree and doubt that it will. This Morning has always been aimed slightly more towards women with make up and fashion, etc. but most features I can enjoy as I do the programme over all.

The current look of the programme has worked well for them so I wouldn't want to see them alter it too much, but by the sound of it the presenters will feature in the titles. I wonder if we could see something similar to the last series featuring Richard & Judy with presenters and features presenters used. Though saying that the features presenters change quite regularly.
