This Morning

Now Phillip hands over directly to the news. Much better.

Probably a dumb question but why isn't This Morning in HD?

If anyone's interested, it's still in SD.

As in...

"Phil - Here is the news, with X.
Z - Thank you, good morning..."

or do they have an ITV News sting after Phil's line?

I thought it seemed a little awkward, to be honest. Phil hastily ended the interview with Jerry Hall and said 'Now lets cross to the newsroom and Nina Hossain.'

It wasn't really made clear that they were heading to the headlines - it could have been breaking news to the average viewer.

The ITV News sting played straight after and Nina just read the headlines as normal. I think it would be much better if Phil said 'Now for the latest news headlines, lets go to Nina Hossain' and then have Nina saying 'Thank's Phil' and then the ITV News sting, maybe? Just so theres a more smooth transition.

That's.... why I asked why it's not in HD?

Don't know about that, maybe just a 'flash' with ITV NEWS Headlines in the style of the titles, and fade to Nina.

I thought the news handover made it seem like there was breaking news too. Miss the hub. It seems like the different "zones" of the studio aren't there anymore. (Eg. X Factor chat is on the sofa, not where they used to do it.)

They might be revamping those areas, just not finished yet?
