Is it? Lots of shows have fake background of things that aren't really there.
Yep - The Andrew Marr Show springs to mind. Their final TV Centre set design had a pretty clean central London skyline as a backdrop in the Barco wal. Didn't think it looked disastrous. It was clearly not 'real' - but it was pretty effective (and the 'Big Ben over the guest shoulder' shot has become a bit of a hallmark of the show)
ITV News London have had a view recreating their original studio for 14 years now, so I’m sure This Morning can manage for 5 till they get the real thing back.

I note the PQ from the live camera has improved on ITV News London, possibly as TM may also use it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't said camera located within the ITV complex to be demolished?
I'm sure they'll manage to make the fake views work on camera. The problem will come in the Summer when they often go out and around the south bank. There is scope for them to do this at TVC but it's going to jar when your studio has a view of the Thames.
Exactly - I don't think the "view" is that crucial to be honest but they will definately miss the South Bank for outdoor content, and I'm not TV Centre as it is now would offer the opportunities it did before with the doughnut for example being a public space. Not sure what happened to the Blue Peter garden.
The BP garden was relocated to Salford, and I think the land is built on, but they might be able to use the studio roof as the visuals seem to show some green space on top. There's nothing stopping them using the public spaces within TVC too as that's essentially what they do when they go down to the riverside now.
Television Centre move for them is going to be very interesting. They have had a long time to prepare, as they announced a year ago the London Studios was closing. I hope they have put in the effort to give these shows a fresh revamp, as Television Centre will be their home for around 4 or 5 years.
