I suspect Eamonn and Ruth are more older skewing but they must do well on Fridays and holidays or they'd been replaced a long time ago.

Today's show opened with the short titles and no "phillip & holly" tag

Any reason why?

Not sure, the wipe to the studio was a little jittery. All the stings so far have had the tag on them however.

Eamonn is not presenting today due to being caught up with man flu.

Alison Hammond is hosting with Ruth instead.

That's an interesting mix. usually it would be Rylan but he's on a break from it.

Really don't get the obsession with Alison Hammond. Surely her 15 minutes was up a long time ago? I guess she must be easy on the old ITV Daytime bank account.

She must be the most successful Big Brother contestant ever, still going on TV after 15 years.

There's something charming about her in my opinion but she won't be everyone's cup of tea for sure.

It's always interesting to have two female hosts as it changes the dynamic a bit, they've done it with Christine and Holly before and also the infamous Twiggy and Colleen pairing,

I wonder if This Morning has a contingency plan in place when a presenter becomes indisposed, they must have a list of people who can cover last minute. Jenni Falconer covered Ruth when she was unwell a few years and Rylan covered Holly when she was unwell,

Kate Lawler who was in the same series as Alison is still in broadcasting, working for Virgin Radio currently.

Also from that series Adele Roberts now a Radio 1 mainstay. Although it’s a bit different as she was already on local radio when she appeared and her jump to that level happened many years later.
