Very weird. Next year is the big 30 so that might be a good indicator if something is up.

I wonder if it's not so much Phil than Holly, it would be super awkward for her to interview the woman she replaced! It's not a big deal for Eamonn and Ruth in comparison and they seemed to get on well with Fern.
Phil always goes on how Holly is his best friend and they often go out together and have holidays together with their respective families but I do wonder once they no longer present together if the same thing will happen.
Perhaps it's just too awkward now.
I have to say, I've been best friends with colleagues at work before, sharing my entire life with them. When I moved on, I moved on. You end up discovering that the thing you've got in common most is the job. So it's possible for it to happen quite easily.
I suspect some of the pay dispute was true, but they didn't hold it personally against each other, then it came out and made things uncomfortable.
It was reported that Phillip texted Fern to wish her luck for her 2011 Channel 4 series the day before the first episode.

Jim Davidson hasnt really been on telly much, after that sitcom he went on to Home James and then it was 5 years before the Gem game? plus Commercial breakdown and that pretty much it?

Were those new titles today? Close ups of clothes, make-up, people milling over the set and so on. Plus a big thing made of Eamon's OBE on the title-card.

Same titles they used in last summer.

They're much more personable and likeable than Philip and Holly. For example you'd never get a belly laugh from Philip and Holly comparable from the time Fern told her story about standing naked in the window the day before with the sun beaming in and her neighbour being able to see.
It's that personal touch with inclusion with the viewers which is key, and is why some people prefer watching Eamonn and Ruth as they feel they share everything with the viewers.
The more I see of Eamonn & Ruth presenting the more I like them, I've always considered them the fill ins, but after today with Ruth milking the OBE, getting the crew cheering and Eamonn rinsing Ruth for pushing her Mum into a pot hole they come across more and more likeable.

I've always preferred Eamonn and Ruth, but I think the issue is that from an ad revenue POV, Phil and Holly are more attractive to those who target younger women.

The Eamonn and Ruth partnership is more equal in comparison to Holly and Phil. I do find when Phil presents with someone else like Ruth or Sarah Greene, it is more equal, it's true with Holly, she's really comes in on her own with cover presenters.

But do they attract advertisers though? Holly Willoughby however Marmite she is (and I can't stand her delivery and girly girl persona either) brought in an audience of more younger viewers.
