Schofield and his ego may not have allowed anyone to appear in the titles apart from himself and Holly.

They could make a simple fix by changing the end on days they don't present so rather than getting to the studio the titles are about them getting home in time to watch the show.

Where is the insistence, both here and on DigitalSpy, that Pip Schofield has a big ego come from? I have never found this to be the case at all, I always find he comes across as a thoroughly lovely man, and I can think of numerous people in front of and behind the camera who have nothing but nice things to say about him. You don't hang around in television for over thirty years if you're a nightmare to work with. Similarly, you do have to have some confidence in your own ability, but that is the same with every broadcaster, or you wouldn't be on telly in the first place.

What are people basing this opinion on? And I must say, I find people repeatedly posting this pretty unpleasant.

You've taken the words out of my mouth Steve, of all the people in TV to possibly have an ego (and I'm sure there are many) surely Schofield is last on the list?

We heard him swear once on that gallery talkback video therefore he is a massive ogre. Probably.

I'm imagining to myself Phil saying "If you put Eamonn and Ruth on the opening titles I'm going to be very cross" Rolling Eyes

Wasn't Jim Davidson supposed to be a tyrant to work with? I'm sure his televisual tenure was about that long.

Sorry, but I'm not a fan of Mr Smug Shouty Man and his endless appearances on TV. Everyone else might think he looks/comes across as lovely, but I just can't abide him and there's something about him I find repellent. Each to their own of course.

He also never had a good relationship with Fern Britton soon as she departed This Morning apparently which suggests he’s not a nice person when the cameras are switched off.

Apparently that soured because Fern discovered she was being paid less than Phil when they were hosting Mr and Mrs. Whether or not Phil made a point of either taking a pay cut or saying "pay us the same or I'm leaving" remains a mystery, but he carried on alone.

Why does that suggest anything of the sort? Ever stopped to think that Fern might have done something to warrant the distancing of their relationship? I'm not suggesting that's the case - the fact that two colleagues became distant after a long time does not suggest one or the other is not a nice person.

I think all this speculation is pointless to be honest. If you know the realities of working with presenters you are unlikely to post them on a public forum. Anything else is just second-hand hearsay and guesswork.
