They even had more from the essex cast intrupting a live performance at the end of todays show. How The Only Way Is Essex got a Bafta I don't know. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

You've got to love TOWIE, it's not as if it's pretending to be a high-brow show.... it doesn't want people to take it seriously...

No matter how many times I've tried to watch a full episode, every time it's made me cringe and switch off.

What is happening to this show? It's getting increasingly tacky and worse. Not that this hasn't been mentioned before.

Holly & Phil interviewing Elmo, and what shocked me most last week was Alex Reid cooking!

Plus, I'm really starting to get fed up with Phil, and increasingly Holly. They're far too arrogant, mindlessly endorse ITV shows, which are mostly rubbish.

It is a shadow of its former self, when features on the show had relevance to viewers, but still remaining quite light-hearted.

Funny you make that post and the next feature was a very good item about a man who had a face transplant. It has been rubbish in the last few months but it's a good show so far today with a good mix of features. Great to see Holly back too.

Agreed! Its great to see Holly and Phil back, and although it should never be the case with TV shows, I do feel that that the duo's chemistry makes the show work!

Sadly the set changes have been kept to a minimum - but the kitchen looks nice Wink

Completely agree. Ruth & Eamonn are good in small doses but when its another duo it becomes painfully obvious that the show doesn't just doesn't work without that connection. The less said about Paddy McGuinness and Andrea Catherwood the better.

I don't really get the stick that Holly gets. Shes a light entertainment presenter yet she does handle the interviews quite well I feel asking appropriate things at appropriate times. She can be a bit dippy at times but that's part of the reason I enjoy watching her. Away from websites, I never hear a bad word said about her and people say how shes so likeable etc. I don't recall Phil getting so much stick when he first joined despite not actually being on TV for years and having no journalistic experience.

What happened to them going HD? Same can be said for Loose Women. You'd think they would have taken the relaunch as an opportunity to upgrade their studio.

I actually prefer Eamonn and Ruth as presenters - far more down to earth than Holly and Phil.

Surely they'd need a spell off air to upgrade?

I thought that HD wasn't being seen as a priority for daytime tv, hence why they're still in SD.

True, but Philip Scofield said a few months ago on This Morning that the show would be going in HD "later in the Summer", but as said it takes time to re-equip a studio to broadcast in HD, and besides weekends TM is only off on Bank holidays, probably not enough time.

Well (officially at least) there are another 16 days of summer left ... even if the weather would suggest otherwise.
