A lot of daytime content is still in SD - including Lorraine, Loose Women, and Jeremy Kyle - both US and UK versions.

I'm pretty sure Loose Women has been HD since their new look launched?

Nope. Still SD.

Daily Mail will have a field day with Carol Vorderman material when they finally do go HD. If they stay in studio 3 they'll probably be HD in September. I can't see them 'downgrading' Daybreak.

Outside of daytime ITV are pretty good with HD. I think all of their primetime schedule is now HD, and Daybreak has also been HD from launch too.

Though Daybreak is only HD in studio most of the time. The vast majority of their location 'VT' and their OBs are still SD (unlike Sky News)

Yes that is true - the same with Breakfast. I don't have access to Sky News HD so wouldn't know how many of their OBs are in HD.

Lots of Sky News OBs are in HD - I'd say almost all of their UK lives (it's odd to spot an SD one these days - though I don't watch it that much in case I stumble across Kay Burley) Most of their location ' VT' is also HD - shot tapeless on Panasonic P2 I believe.

Breakfast seem to have some HD content - I assume the stuff that is shot / edited in Salford (like Sport?) ? The stuff from London on Breakfast is still SD though - as are the OBs.

Pretty sure Midlands Today use P2s! They're trialling tapeless HD for the regions, or were...

That must have been a while back - there was a trial of P2 and a Thomson/GrassValley/Philips tapeless stuff in the mid 00s.

BBC News have effectively standardised on Sony SxS using KMW 350s and PMW 500s after going through a large-scale procurement exercise.

The PMW 500 is pretty quickly becoming the de facto camera for HD tapeless shooting in the UK (along with the Canon XF305 - which has replaced the EX3+Nanoflash combo)

Sky News are using P2, and P2 is also used by the BBC Natural History Unit (who previously shot on DVC Pro HD tape Varicams extensively) I think Sky are using DVC Pro HD as the codec on their P2 (rather than AVCi 100). Not sure about the NHU.

Granada was often accused of Manchester bias by viewers in Liverpool and moved their newsroom to Liverpool in 1986 and hosting the first 8 years of This Morning from the Albert Dock was a massive coup for Liverpool. However, both are now long gone.
