How is this "overkill"? Those that watch weekdays wont need to watch the weekend compilations and those that are working weekdays can watch these new weekend shows - two different audiences no?
Presenter wise the Digital Spy article says Holly and Phil will present, recording the shows midweek. I doubt then anything from Friday's will make it into the cut.
Seems a good way of getting extra mileage out of the week's show for those who haven't seen them. Anything's better than the umpteenth re-run of Planet's Funniest or whatever, at least they're trying. Mind you - seems a remarkably similar idea to STV's "The Hour Sunday Best" which has been running for some time now
From the looks of the ITV jobs page, it seems as though This Morning will be running through the summer this year. Where as last year it took a break apparently due to cost cutting, but it was probably more so they could revamp the show.

This Morning is the strongest it has been for a while so they're obviously going to capitalise on it. Eamonn & Ruth also give the show a different edge than when Phil & Holly are presenting- its like two different shows- so thats one other good way of keeping it fresh.
Also can I just say huge credit to whoever made the new opening titles. 7 months on and I'm STILL noticing new things every day that I didn't see before. The attention to detail is incredible.
The local paper has an advert placed by ITV that says This Morning will be broadcasting from Brighton beach on Monday. Does anyone know what form this will take? Will the whole show be an OB or just a small part of it?
