This Morning

People probably wanted a new window frame or something, perhaps a wider view of the river. But I think it was a sensible choice. They're revamped everything else and only tweaked the set (and finally got rid of the blue metal things!!) so if everything else fails, at least it is still recognisable to an extent so its something to fall back on.

Fanoftv- Holly is currently filming for X Factor, 4 locations around the world in the next 2 weeks so that's why she isn't on yet. When X Factor goes live, I can see Holly only doing 3 days a week as she'll be working all but one day for three months if not.

That's why I was wondering about the mix shots, presumably Ruth will fill in for Holly quite a bit, especially when she's doing live X Factor's as presumably they'll be a live Sunday show to go along with the result. I can see Holly going to Tues - Thurs when this happens.

I like the new look from what I have seen, and the theme tune sounds good to, not made a mess of it or anything.

I think one of the worst looks was the flower logo, anyone remember that?

That look was literally a sting though, a flower on a sky background with this morning on top. I think it was more the Twiggy & Colleen in this era. Nothing against either one of them, but putting them together just didn't work.

Today one shot shown that girder is still there just painted gold but Ruth and Eamonn stood the other side of it rather than right by it.

Plus the last break just now shown the VT clock before the titles then showing a frame of ITV Nightscreen before going into the titles.

The opening frame would be very easy to tweak I imagine, though I reckon rather than shots of Phil/Ruth or Eamonn/Holly together they'll either have two individual shots or use the two shots of Phil/Holly and Ruth/Eamonn.

They probably have 4 sets of titles with possible combinations, although they might have 3- one for Holly and Phil, one for Eamonn and Ruth, and one with all four on. For the past few years they've had Fern and Phil titles for when they were both on and ones with all 4 on for Friday's, holidays and whenever cover was required. It can't be that hard to change the picture though.

Either way I'm hoping that they don't use the photo of Holly & Phil on the website, it looks terrible, I'm just hoping that it's two random photos stuck together. I'm sure the Eamonn & Ruth one is one of the photos that used to sit on the sideboard beneath the middle window. It's a very cosy looking photo, but then again they are an engaged couple.

Going back to the website - it seems that it's crashed. I was looking forward to seeing the online article about how they transformed the set as promoted at the end of the show.

I enjoyed todays show, it had an interesting start where they started to do the menu, broke away from the menu for 3 minutes or so to go through some newspaper articles (though cleverly linked into some polls and talking points of the day), it was a nice way to start the show, and it included Eamonn's reference to Ruth being a chubby chaser & feeder.

They seemed to present many links today from the small set to the right of the main sofa's as you look at them, presumably so that they don't have to move out the big sofas to put the chairs in. I've always thought that this was a bit random how they did this a few times a show.
It seems as if the large red sofas will be used for the majority of interviews, especially with the daily 'lunch' item making the kitchen a permanent feature.

Eamonn & Ruth now seem to be sitting on the same sofa, in the last series during interviews the guests would be on a sofa, but they would be sat in the chairs, always thought it was a bit strange.

The new red screens were used for the showbiz item today, the old catwalk set just doesn't work with those screens, I don't think they've made any changes to this part of the set. And a nice big kitchen table was used in the kitchen area for an item about sandwich sculptures complete with checked cloth. Very nice.

The one of Holly and Phil is two random pictures stuck together, they've stuck a Dancing on Ice promo pic over Fern's face. Hopefully they'll have a nicer picture, even if its just one of the ones taken when Holly visited the set at the end of July. There is the one below (which probably won't work) but theres another one too that's quite similar but a bit better

I still can't quite make my mind up about those titles!, The new music is growing on me and TBH I think R&E are doing a great job, no matter what people say about her.

Anyway I guess time will tell.

I love the new titles. Still not sure about that logo, though.

I think the reworking of the theme is great & adds a new lease of life to it, and I love the titles, the design is great & love how the show graphics all have their own looks that fit the new branding well.

As for the logo, it may only be typeface, but its very nice, and works well in my opinion.
