After all the show is meant to be your friend.

I would say a programme like This Morning is meant to be your mentor, not your friend.

The logo is babyish end of.

You're both wrong. A show like This Morning is meant to be your pastry chef.

I think the new logo is a bit ''girly''. Am not too keen on the new set, I wonder where they got the red sofa from, Studio 5 Laughing

The third one does look very 'Big Brother' ish

I thought that. I quite like the 'new' set.

Not sure if it's a new advert, but I just seen one telling us whats on this week, there was a pink and orange background, however it did say "Showbiz" beneath.

Different colours for different themes on the show maybe?

it looks the same, I don't know whether the sun has created this set after hearing that it is going to be red as I hope that they don't use this set tomorrow!!!

Highly unlikley that the Sun snuk into the studios... created a new set and snuk back out again.

I find it a bit strange ITV have released press shots for a set which hasn't really had that much of a makeover. If you look around, they've just added a plasma and changed the sofa's. The fashion/stage area is the most changed. Hopefully the cookery area is a bit different.

Interesting to look at the photos added from the Sun, I was expecting a bit more than that, especially for the area with the chairs & screens (presumably set for an X Factor item), I don't think that set has been changed at all, the round mirror has even stayed.

The new performance & fashion area looks very nice, and looks as though it can be easily styled for many items. Maybe they've looked at how much they were spending on large prints for an item & thought it the long run it would be cheaper to use screens displaying different images.

I'm not sure what to think about the main area, essentially they've redecorated the old set. In a way it creates a link, it demonstrates that the show may be changing, but it is still essentially the same show. The main area has taken the majority of the colour from the wallpaper & put it on the sofas - to me they look like the old sofas recovered - and have had new wallpaper & rug presumably to tie in with the new titles. I do think that the brickwork set works well, and partly I'm glad that they've kept it, but they could have done something to the other area, hopefully other parts of the set have had a redecoration too.

I'm intrigued as to what they've done to the programme, and especially the music, will be interesting to see with Eamonn & Ruth from tomorrow morning.

And that was my 5,000th post - only took 7 or so years.

I think it has changed more than we realised. The main picture looks a lot wider. It might just be clever photography but they might have widened it and moved either the cookery area or the bit to the right of the picture. Also, the fashion parts used to take part in the bit now with a red screen. (What is the point in that other thing btw?!) and what looks like will now be the fashion bit is where performances used to take place. It will be interesting to see if they still have the bit near the book case where the soaps and TV used to be done from.

I'm not sure about the main shot being wider, it's most probably because it isn't usually seen from this angle. The window won't have changed size, else it would have been a bit pointless to not change the set totally.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the lighter wallpaper will change the main area. The old red/fuscia colouring worked well especially during late autumn, Christmas & winter making the set feel warm and homely in relation to the sometimes dark live outside shot at this time of the year. The problem being that when it came to spring/summer it made the set feel dark.

As for the red thing in front of the chairs, presumably these are similar to previous where they also had smaller screens at the front usually used in long shots going into VT, it is a shame they didn't do something with this area, though maybe they still have plans to.

I never noticed it was screens, maybe it will look better on TV and when the screens are lit up. The mirror looks out of place considering that is no longer the fashion area though. It will be interesting how they fit performances in as well, presumably they'll just move the catwalk but they used to build different sets for different artists.

Just noticed that the UTV version of the This Morning promo has a different font for the day and time to that used on the ITV1 version. The UTV version uses the same font as the line of text above whereas the ITV1 version uses the ITV corporate font:

If UTV have added this font themselves it looks like they've spelt 'sponsored' wrong!
