This Morning is a grown up programme for grown adults who expect to be treated as such. You can't possibly say the new logo reflects that.

The new logo reflects warmth, just look at the shape, the colour, and the fact theres no capitals. Its just attracting to the target audience. I bet you most women will love that new look, and women is the shows target.

Young women aged under about 22 will like the logo. But the majority of the audience is aged between 22 - 55, and I think they'd find it a bit patronising or at least incongruent with their expectations of the show. This Morning deals with a lot of serious issues around health and lifestyle, the fashion segments feature the expensive end of highstreet clothing, the cookery segments are about quality food, and the programme speaks to you like you're an adult. Does the logo reflect all of this? No, it doesn't.

Has it not occurred to you they're trying to tap a slightly younger end of that age range, something echoed by the new presenter choice?

It's none threatening friendly logo at the end of the day, which wont frighten anybody off, but it might say to a few other people "hello, come in, we'll show around this place!".

People won't think about this new logo enough to be patronised by it, but subliminally they'll get a feel that it's warm, friendly and approachable.

Ironically the day Holly finally makes her debut is the week Mel B guest hosts Loose Women.

In what way is that ironic?

The day This Morning gets its new host (finally) should be the day ITV daytime is properly back to normal. But the day she starts is the day the hosts of another flagship daytime show vanish.

I've heard Loose Women referred to as many things, but "flagship" isn't one of them.

as for the logo - any rational person couldn't care less! it's not the first and won't be the last brand to drop capital letters, and after all it is on itv.

Well it is a flagship daytime show for ITV, it runs for about 48 weeks per year, only This Morning and Jeremy Kyle (soon to be axed) have a similar run. Whether you love it or hate it, you can't deny that it's a strong staple in ITV's daytime schedule.

People are over analysing this logo a bit much. It won't attract viewers, it won't turn viewers away, it won't make viewers feel patronised. Who in the target audience is going to sit at home and think "I feel extremely patronised that the logo is all in lower case. It is a show for adults and I expect to be treated as such".

Where has this story that the Jeremy Kyle show is to be axed come from?

I think it was a story the Daily Star made up months ago, which prompted a massive thread on Digital Spy, so there is no reason to believe it's happening really.

It gets quite a high audience share too I believe? And it has won several awards too, so I think it's reasonable to refer to it as as flagship ITV (daytime) show.

I'm intrigued about this new look This Morning, I will wait to see what it actually appears like on TV, along with a new set & new theme tune, should be interesting, though it's a couple of weeks before Holly arrives, it will be interesting to see how she how she acts on the show, will she voice her opinions, or will she just do the secondary links? Hopefully its NOT the latter

Talking of loose women, isn't it about time that they had a makeover? Especially with their new addition of Kate Thornton coming on board.
