CeeFax was a purely BBC venture, was it not?

I think Andrew means the listings on Ceefax.

Sorry for not being clear, Page 603 still says 'ITV' at the top

Ooop, didn't read it properly. I haven't seen ITV for years, let alone ITV1, up here in SMG generic Scottish TV land.

Sorry!

I've noticed that virtually all newspaper TV guides (from both national and regional/local papers) have yet to show even show Central and Westcountry as Carlton (Central) and Carlton (West Country) - or whatever, let's not quibble over whether I should have used those brackets!

They can't use the fact that those names are long-winded as their excuse, because 'proper' TV listings mags (e.g. TV Times, Radio Times, TV & Satellite Week etc) all made the print size of the region-specifying stamp smaller to cope with that problem.

Also, all the 'proper' mags have managed to get 'ITV1' right. In fact, in TV Times for that week, just above the first listing ('5.30am ITV Morning News') was microscopic writing saying something like 'Please not from today ITV will be known as ITV1' - to reassure you that the use of a '1' in the top-of-page banner wasn't a misprint.

PS the 'search and scan banner' of channel 103 on SkyDigital still says:

press 'tv' then '3' for ITV

Of course there should now be a '1' at the end of that. Maybe they're not bothering until ITV1 is on Sky Digital? I hope they don't forget to change it when that happens! Smile

btw Who else thinks that the blue and yellow horizontal lines background (used on the ads promoting ITV Sport Channel) would be good in new ITV1 and ITV 2 logos?

Agreed, maybe with variations of the colour scheme.

Has anyone else noticed that itv.com now redirects you to itv.co.uk?

Yeah. That's very strange. Come on ITV, get organized!
