Haven't itv wales got any laid down fire alarm procedures ?
Surely , they should evacuate the building - especially in the case of air conditioned premises ! Very dangerous where there may be smoke involved . Rolling Eyes

I think they made the correct decision to carry on broadcasting regardless if their lives were in danger - well done to everyone concerned! But maybe they should take a look here for future reference :-

Well they were obviously told in their ear pieces to carry on as it was a false alarm, they would hardly have carried on reading the news headlines if they thought the building was burning down!

PS Great to see Sally Johnson reading the morning bulletins today Very Happy Wink

How would they know - stuck in a studio ?
What sort of message does this send out to the public at large ?
Health and safety requirements state quite explicitly that a building should be evacuated in the event of a fire alarm.
Perhaps the unions are too scared of Chas to look after themselves properly. Big mistake ! If there had been a fire itv wales would be looking pretty foolish right now. What if there had been a fatality - or serious respiratory injury ? These are the questions that need to be answered - not some sh itty little pat on the back from the media morons on this thread. Evil or Very Mad

Totally agree with you - when we heard the fire alarm in work we had to leave everything where it was an exit the building immediately. We didnt know whether it was a false alarm or not at the time. Turned out someone had been making toast LOL

Maybe they were making a sandwich aswell?

PS Jez did you see Surrell Neil today on ITV Wales News? She reported LIVE from a police station in Cardiff and was VERY good - she also had a tan to beat Lucy's!

I *wonder* who will be weekend news reader?

Thanks to all participants in this thread. To improve the navigation for all visitors, especially those who do not regularly trawl the generic threads, they (including this thread) are being closed.

Recent news discussions can be continued in dedicated threads in the new In the News forum otherwise please comment on other topics in the main forum. Hopefully the footer information on that page will make it a little clearer about what content should appear where.

While some may be annoyed / wound up / incensed by the locking of established threads and at other members’ initial confusion once it has settled down, the splitting of main presentation and news should be a benefit to all.

After all, the more people who see your thread, the more likely they are to participate. Any comments would be welcome in the Announcement thread at the top of the main forum.
