Just as well this thread covers all of Welsh broadcasting - not just the itv wales news, otherwise it could get a bit repetitivealong the lines of " what went wrong tonight ".
Have you noticed , though , that it's only gone downhill since Jez started his own fawning thread ? Confused

Well I think it all went downhill after the big cat story on page 4.

Oh I read on the BBC tinkernet site that Jenny Ogwen has retired -- how dare she. I insist she returns. They've got some dollybird in now who just *happens* to be the newsreader's sister.

How sad, the old HTV faces are slowly going into crocheting sheep blankets and will all end up smelling faintly of liquorice -- in that way most retired people seem to do.

I know Dilwyn is a Saturday asda welcomer in the valleys somewhere -- nice to get out now and again isn't it. Mind you I'm certain he's viewing Lucy's imperialist ambitions this afternoon with great disapproval.

I have, so my plan for revenge worked LOL Laughing – I never forget when someone is mean to me.

It went downhill when you refused to put Sally Johnson’s picture on your advent calendar 2003. How could you leave her out – HTV’s longest serving newsreader. I warned you bad things would happen if you didn’t. Well Su Evans has gone now so you have no excuse for omitting Sally this year. Wink

I remember when she was a CA on HTV in the 80s. Wiggy and Sue Powell Reid are 2 of the few old school left now. Im sure Dilwyn must have retired by now, he hasn’t been busy on HTV since he left the weather department.

Well no , it's not obvious - what don't you understand ? ( Just regarding my post that is - I don't want a complete list of your deficiencies ).
Yes , Phillipa is a lovely lady -if a bit nervous - but then , she is only just starting out. What does Jez ( the kiss of death ) think about her ?
Confused

Well seen as you are so keen to hear my opinion on Philippa Meaken then I will tell you Wink

I thought she struggled a bit on the Saturday evening bulletin, she made a few mistakes and seemed a bit nervous like you said, but it could have been a lot worse if she wasnt such a professional. In fairness she did have to speak for a long time with no breaks for reports, and the graphics were playing up too.

On Sunday's bulletins she was *much* better although she pronounced Justina's Simpson's name wrong when introducing a report, other than that well done Phillipa, you were great on Sunday! Very Happy

Well done men , we're all agreed for once. Now then , how tall do you think she is ? She looks as though she could be quite tall to me , but you can never tell with these cameras , and I never paid too much attention to her before. But she is very nice. Very Happy

P.S. that's "seeing as " not " seen as ".

Anyone else see the MOTD at 40 programme on BBC1 Wales - it ended with a MOTD anorak listing all the Goal of the Season winners. Then immediately after that the Welsh announcer said "Poor lad - I think he needs to get a life!"

How rude! Razz

I wouldn't be TOO nasty about the BBC Wales announcers, sorry, channel directors, or you'll suddenly find the Llandaffia will be after you with a huge harp case!
