UKTV Documentary's phrase is 'this is how we live', and 'brings you home' is the whole network, not just Gold. Actually some of the phrases (particularly those for the factual channels) are alright, I think...

Okay, parhaps I was quite harsh calling them silly and awful phrases i just was overreacting to the fact i liked the old names better and it was just things like bringing food to life and brighten your world.
Oh and for the phrases i went by what was on their site and it said brings you home on only the UKTV Gold page, UKTV Documentary's wrong phrase was a mocked up (By me, not windows for once) copy and paste.

They're all sourced from a proper widescreen version.... they're produced in widescreen.

League of Gentlemen is a wierd one, some of the 16:9 letterbox ones did appear on Play, some are 16:9, some are 14:9 for no real logical reason. as far as I can see

I actually meant that maybe they had a proper widescreen copy and were arc'ing it to 16:9 letterbox, rather than playing out an already letterboxed version... but then again, maybe not!

Anyway, if this job of re-mastering all their material is going to take so long, maybe they should get going on it. Surely they'll have to do it eventually, so the sooner they start...

I've also noticed recently that the repeats of The Bill seem to fill the screen; ie not 14:9. The source material is definately 16:9 since they're up to 2002 at the moment. Strange!
