Caught this tucked away on afternoons on BBC One, each day a personality sits down with Brian Conley and they pick their way through a few of their highlights on TV - programmes that influenced them or they were involved in.

Eamonn Holmes was first up and part way through they touched on GMTV and how much of a career defining moment it was - and how much he was helped by Des Lynam!

A nice little show, they got to choose a theme tune to end on too - of course the announcer was respectful and didn't speak over...

...yeah right.

Bonus points for proper 4:3 material Wink

P.S it is just me that didn't know W1A's theme was the tune to Animal Magic?

I saw this earlier. There was a clip of 'This is Your Life' and it was very unwatchable. The 'Star Trek' clip looked like it was from Youtube than anything. But a good programme none the less Smile

A very good programme. I love the attention to details - explaining where stars came from/went on to and the episode detail. I was surprised to learn that there were 440 x 30 min episodes of Animal Magic.

I never knew that Des Lynam was the first choice for GMTV.

For me the programme showed how much of a love that Eamonn has for his job and for television in general.

When you watch one of the early clips with the presenter Eammon referenced as "being hired because he looked like Des Lynam", you can definitely notice it!

Yes looking back now you can tell that Michael Wilson was either hired or molded into a Lynam esque character.

Also who noticed during the clips of Star Trek that the background music was the old ITV Snooker theme!

I'd like to know why they were so keen for Des. He's an excellent sports presenter but he's not exactly the get-up-and-go face you want in the morning. If Michael's presenting was anything like the TV Ark clip into GMTV's first local news opt-out, I'm not surprised he didn't last. Never has somebody being told to "fill" been so blatant.

I know that today's episode is Sandi Toksvig and from a Radio 2 interview with Brian, one of Sandi's TV shows is basil brush which she was afraid of

When I read about it and then saw it yesterday, I thought it sounded like Holiday Of My Lifetime with Len Goodman. Having checked, they are both made by Raise The Roof.
