I have given up.............goodbye Grampian..........you have been great and will be missed. That said you died in 1999 when we were sold down the river (Clyde)!!
SERVING THE NORTH OF SCOTLAND (ALWAYS) - THIS IS GRAMPIAN TELEVISION!
I'm slightly confused about the sub-regions. Is it going to be STV North, STV East etc? I think there should be sub-regional names because it makes it quite confusing - for example on this forum (region names at the side).
I'm told the official names will be STV North and STV Central.
So will there be a specail farewell announcement when the last Grampian ident airs around Midnight tonight?
Most of the ITV regions did this back in October 2002 when England became ITV1
Actually, the last Grampian idents will air at 6am tomorrow morning, linking into GMTV.
And, the last Night time TV ident will air at either 4am or 5am?

There's now a maintenance message at www.stv.tv Not long now.
Border was pretty crap but it did have a local feel to it .Granada took it over back in 2000 and transmission was moved to Leeds. The onair look became very bland with those awful hearts idents .Now it's just so far removed from the region it's unbelievable.I'm not surprised that Grampian has gone and i think the STV brand will have a limited shelf life.ITV News and shows such as the X Factor still refer to the channel as ITV 1and this is broadcast on STV /UTV/Channel it's still all very disjointed with a mix of brands. It's only a matter of time before we see ITV 1 Scotland it will happen .
