Absolutely. There's bound to be a number of people who still refer to it as Grampian, even when the name is no longer used on-screen.
My ITV1 region is West, and despite even this barely appearing below the ITV1 logo, you still get people around here referring to it as HTV, as if it's never even left our screens.

Just because Grampian TV is disppearing from our screens from tomorrow, it does'nt mean to say that it will vanish from the hearts and minds of the people of the North of Scotland - and these hallowed pages as long as I'm around.

Is it just me, or is the announcer actually saying Scottish TV at the start of each ident?

A lot of thought has gone into the final day of presentation on Grampian .The start up ident at 9.25a.m. was former STV newsreader Andrea Brymer, followed by current STV presenter Stephen Jardine at 10.30a.m. and he was back again at 1.30p.m.Tonight at 7.00p.m it was Andrea once again, and she was back at 8.00 p.m. Where are the well known Grampian presenters? I am just waiting for STV political editor Bernard Ponsonby to appear.

I too am seriously annoyed by this. Yeah Grampian used to be the butt of jokes, it always seemed more like an anti northern ignorance than anything else (nothing good could come from that far north etc). Let's face it, its not the smallest station surely Border and Channel both serve smaller populations.
Compared with STV, Grampian never tried to be something it plainly wasn't. STV tried to almost be one of the big boys but could never pull off the money/talent/professionalism required. Grampian knew it was regional broadcaster and did good work as that.
Other Grampian greats include the Channel 4 series "Oil" in the eighties. Living and Growing, which was a network production, which I read somewhere that LWT backed by even showing the parent preview and studio discussion on the Sunday night before the main schools transmission. This I think shows how much betrter the fedral structure of ITV was back then, that LWT would happily take a small regions programme on a Sunday night.
I was in the computer progrtamme "Bits n Pieces" back in the Eighties presented by Bobby Hain (should we now refer to him as the Butcher of Grampian
). That show may have been a limited network production. Also endless OB's for the network of standard ITV fair like Highway or Morning Service. This is excluding all the local stuff that was great.
Yeah cause I think the Scottish media needs more things to move to Glasgow cause they don't really have enough do they
As I said before Glasbolisation.
Shame on you SMG and a very sad day, why not destroy the one advantage you had over the BBC, that of 3 regions in Scotland to the BBC's 1.

I'm slightly confused about the sub-regions. Is it going to be STV North, STV East etc? I think there should be sub-regional names because it makes it quite confusing - for example on this forum (region names at the side).
On the subject of region names, will they be getting changed tomorrow Asa?
