The altogether catchphrase is an odd one - I'm sure if you asked most people on the street what the hell they were on about, they wouldn't know.

They either need to publicise the STV website as the step forward beyond their TV franchise, at which point they need constant adverts with that as a slogan, or drop it altogether. At the moment it's too cryptic and the newspaper adverts and completely out of touch and unhelpful.

If I hear a announcer say "Altogether" again I'm gonna tear my hair out..Seriously though, "Altogether Scotland" is getting stupid. Laughing

I agree with you but the announcers have obviously been told to say "Altogether" .

Problems again at stv. A few minutes ago we had the ITV1 still caption, and now we just had two ITV1 branded trailers. No stv ident into the news just a stv still.

You sound like an ex Grampian or STV employee John and very disgruntled too. Wink

Tonight’s Champions League final score, Manchester United 3, Glasgow Celtic 2. The highlights are at midnight on stv. Border Scottish is taking the stv regional programme, so I guess it will be a return to, “on this channel.” Laughing

No. Scotsport have started using the stv brand on most things now, such as the text number: 83STV, and the website: stv.tv/sport.

But Jim Delahunt cannot say, here on stv, when the programme is on ITV1 Border Scottish also, can he. There was no stv on the trailer that just aired for the programme.

Yes, they should just give it away. With the ITV share price under £1 today, Border cannot be worth that much. Laughing

Last I heard it was worth £1.01 and a Guinness bottle-top. Laughing

It is an inaccurate, confusing and stupid catchphrase. SOME continuity announcers need to learn the difference between “altogether” and all together. Take a couple of recent announcements; “now we’re all together for Emmerdale” and “now all together swing that club.” The aforementioned examples can only be all together and not “altogether.” The first announcement on stv for me meant, we are all together Scotland, and not we are “altogether Scotland.” As far as I am concerned, it is altogether daft.
