They've got a few widescreen problems today. It's been flicking to 16:9 mode too early so the last few seconds of an advert/production slide is in the wrong ratio.

Well, most of the time, they say:
Now, the Early Morning News;
Now, the Lunchtime News;
Now, the Evening News;
Now, tonights News;
Now, the Weekend News;
etc...

I thought STV had to pay for all networked programming - so therefore they're paying for The Championship, whether they show it or not. So that will probably be on next year up here..

That was the case, but it will be no play no pay for SMG if they do not show network programmes in future. No Championship on STV this year, it will be the croc hunter diaries instead.
The trailer is now running for the new look Scotsport which will last for 2 hours.(90 minutes initially due to Love Island).

God knows how they're going to pad two hours. I don't know how much more of the Setanta highlights they've got access to, and I presume the paid-for station has a monopoly on the majority of it. They also don't have Sara O and Julyan to do the crap filler nonsense which, while awful, filled a lot of time. No doubt though that Scotsport will account for a vast proportion of STV's regional programming over the coming season.

Meanwhile - if STV are going to opt-out of ITV programming and save money on it, they should be forced to provide local programming instead. Otherwise they could just ditch anything for the sake of cost, presumably the reason that rule was implemented in the first place.

I have been getting all nostalgic ever since they changed their name back to STV (not that any of us actually called it anything other than STV.........)

Remember this guy???
