the stv thread

I noticed that stv.tv has been plastered on all their idents and trails as well. It looks awful!

I also walked past the new stv studios at Paciific quay last night and it looks really small compared to Cowcaddens. Surely they can't have TV studios in there?

If they need larger studio facilities they're going to share bbc scotland's larger facilites next door.

There seems to be a few problems with the sound in the idents today. Has this got something to do with the move to PQ?

I noticed a problem yesterday morning, where the announcer came in too late and was talking over the beginning of the programme.

I don't know why they don't have live continuity anymore.

Primetime is live, everything else is recorded.

I see. I take it that was to save more money?

Anyone else finding it slightly annoying coming out of a commercial break on STV right now, we're going from the sponsor message, to an STV still, then an ITV still, then the movie. Then vice-versa coming into a break. Sort it out!

It isn't usually like that. I do think all this has something to do with the move...

More SMG bosses face the axe

Interesting piece in the Sunday Herald today on possible shuffling around the Scottish media circle, with shareholders all wanting different bosses at SMG. Not sure how much is just rumour and speculation, but worth a look.

It looks like they're using a breakbumper at the end of ad breaks now. Looks a lot better.
