I think the Sunday timeslot (9.25) will be left for Sunday Live, as the 9.55 slot is now occupied by Sunday Feast???
This might be true for now - but won't "The Championship" be back on in England when the domestic footie season starts? Given that the famously stingy SMG almost certainly won't pay to show this, how will they fill the half-hour void that Scotsport First once filled?
Must'nt grumble too much though - will get just a wee bit more exposure to my beloved Dandy Dons on Mondays - and thanks to having Freeview these days, don't have to worry about missing Supernatural/Numb3rs anymore!!

Given the lack of Scottish interest in The Championship, would this really be classed as network output?
I've been led to believe that SMG and Ulster can opt out from paying for network output provided they show local programming, and that there is no obligation on them to broadcast imports either.

I thought STV had to pay for all networked programming - so therefore they're paying for The Championship, whether they show it or not. So that will probably be on next year up here.
And STV bingo - oh God ...

so are you saying all 15 company have to pay to show network output?
who get the money these day? or either that in the good old days?
and STV Bingo is probaly a quick way for STV to make money, if STV had there chance the would make up there own MINT type programme!

I could be completely wrong, but I thought STV had to pay for all network output whether they wanted it or not. I was sure that part of their argument against doing their own Scottish Six (can you imagine?) or providing more local programming was that they had to pay for output they didn't want. Presumably all the money technically goes to ITV Network Centre.
Happy for those who know the system better than me to correct me.

No-one spot the story in the Scottish News of the World today? Apparently the Swedish railway people have been in touch with STV raising concerns over the similarity of their logo to the new STV one.
Mind you, as it is so safe and generic, it could look like a million other logos (British Steel anyone?)

11 of the 15 franchises are owned by ITV PLC anyway, and would surely fall into line automatically.
As for STV Bingo, I'm very surprised they haven't cottoned on to the latest fasion/ruse of broadcasting cheap, tacky quizzes on their own behalf. Have been unable to ascertain whether they get a cut of the proceeds of The Mint/Quizmania. If I were in charge of SMG, there is no way ITV Play output would darken my channels unless I was being paid my just dues.

Well STV do of course have Watch to Win, their own little money maker, but they really don't make as much of it as they could.
Cheeky little lack of plug for Spitting Image on ITV4 from STV there - then again I suppose they don't have anything to gain by directing their viewers elsewhere.

Or the 1970s/2000s BBC Superstars logo.

Surprised they haven't tried to make an entire late-night programme out of the Watch To Win brand.
Very little cross-promotion of ITV PLC-owned channels on STV- one presumes this would be far more common on ITV1 in England and Wales. At the end of the day, SMG are in business for the benefit of their shareholders, and how can it be profitable for them to direct their viewers to other channels? You might as well make a case for free promotion of programming from Channel 4, Channel 5...etc.
