Did anyone see STV very early this morning, at around 5.30-6.00?
They used two of the old-style promos.
Shouldn't all of those be deleted by now?

Yes, they also broadcast one tonight after Corrie. Sloppiness and SMG go hand in hand.

To be fair ITV1 isn't the best either. It's been known for them to play out Christmas idents in March, plus the odd ITV50 'Next' sequence popped up randomly well after the packaged had been dropped.

I heard a rumour last night that the Head of News at STV is going to be moved sideways when he completes the move to Pacific Quay and Alan Fisher is going to be appointed to run the news operation.

Apparently Alan is a mate of Bobby Hain who is the MD at SMG and this has been on the cards for ages.

I think it would be a good move. He's done loads, always struck me as a top class reporter who knew his stuff and might energise the newsroom. I think he's still at GMTv although I haven't seen him f or ages.

Yes, Grampian Television does still exist.

You might actually be right!

I think given the state of the news from the Glasgow/Edinburgh centres he would be a good appointment.

If he could get the reporters there performing half as well as he does it would make a big improvement.

And even though he's a mate of Bobby's I don't think that neccessarily means he'll be a clone.

Alan used to work at Scottish in the early ninties and at Grampian before that. I hope that means he's got a bit of a soft spot for both stations and would be a bit more diplomatic in the way things are handled.

Immediately before the STV ident introducing The Jeremy Kyle show this morning, there was a This Summer on ITV1 trail. Is this normal?

Think that must have been the last event of GMTV - STV's first thing is nearly always an ident.

Digiguide are treating STV as just one channel, showing the regional news as "6pm Scotland Today/North Tonight"

The channel formerly known as Grampian is being shown as 'Channel no longer broadcasting'! Shocked

Does anyone know where I can find a big sized "S" STV logo?

Is the logo on the main website big enough? www.stv.tv

I've taken the one off the website and copied it (almost). What is the font used for the text?

I think (and certainly looks like) they used Arial bold.
