Yes, Grampian Television does still exist. It still holds the ITV license for the North of Scotland, just like Scottish Television has the license for Central Scotland.

As for the idents, the best on the ITV Network, if only because they look nothing like the dreadful "ITV1" ones. Given this, I wonder if ITV PLC have a view on one of their "partners" adopting a completely new look that bears no comparison to theirs.
Nothing will ever fully compensate for the loss of the Grampian TV brand, but SMG's stock will surely rise if they can find some way of putting on better programming...
