Ident 2

Strangely (or perhaps not), both run for exactly 300 frames.

Somebody at STV's been watching a little too much UTV then...

So far as I've seen, the new idents look really nice and fresh. Very Happy It's as if STV are finally letting their idents breathe! Very Happy

By the way, I'm just wondering - how did everyone bring in the new look to STV? Confused Brought on the waterworks (cry?) or just sit and wait to find out how it would all turn out? Confused

Maybe its just that I'm twice your age, Laura, but I don't think a change of identity is worth shedding tears.

That's not to say I'm not an emotional man, but change is normal; and not something to be upset about (mostly).

Doesn;t she look a bit like Sam from big brother?;]
Needless to say I think the new look is rather refreshing and far better IMO than ITV PLCs attempt at people/place idents when they relaunched earlier this year.

Your right there Gav! Wink I have to say though, that it's great to be saying STV again. Cool Albeit at Grampians expense. Sad

Thanks for the video Gavin - I haven't got the software to edit, resize and post clips online.

Overall, I like the new look - I'm not saying it's groundbreaking (I mean, I've seen a couple of the idents two or three times already so they may tire quickly) but it's a good standard for STV who never seem to spend much on pres. I like the music and it should be easy for them to add a few to the set for special occasions.

Also, it's interesting to hear how much more enthusiastic the announcer is when the have a new look! I note the theme running through the (slightly obscure) newspaper adverts and on TV is "altogether", which was quite cleverly put into tonight's 7pm anno.

I wasn't a fan on the so-called 'sexy kiss' she gave. I really don't like this woman's voice much, but it gives you an idea of the music:

STV Ident Music (MP3 with V/O)

Overall, nice improvement STV! Can imagine a few Grampian viewers getting a bit confused though.

I hope it's not just me, but is any one else annoyed of the fact that STV uses one font for the Subtitles message on the news, then another font for every other show?
I think the message should be on the idents, just like the BBCs.

The announcer does seem quite excited by the whole thing.

Ident 3.

Sorry, I managed to drop a frame in the capture, so I'll re-do this one at some point.
