They're probably using the regular network feed rather than their "clean" feed. I presume UTV is getting the same. No more news on the great STV rebrand, which must be only days away?

The clean feed must be down again. I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about the new look. We'll know soon enough hopefully.

STV Press Release

stv , the new unified identity of broadcasters Scottish TV and Grampian TV, will be revealed at stv studios in Glasgow and Aberdeen today (Wednesday).

TV viewers across Scotland will switch on to a new look for their favourite peak time TV stations from next Tuesday (30th) with the launch of stv , the most dynamic re-brand in the history of the channels.

A range of new idents combine new faces with stunning locations across the country to represent a fresh, contemporary Scotland, centred on a blue letter ‘s’ which will become the symbol of the stations.

The stations have adopted a unified identity following Ofcom’s Review of Public Service Broadcasting, which allows them to broadcast a common television schedule for their non-news programming.

A single brand also paves the way for stv’s development of a new e-commerce strategy on the internet, mobile phones and other potential new platforms.

stv’s new website, stv.tv , will be launched later this summer and will feature an exciting new range of entertainment, lifestyle, news and sports services.

Some of the first services available in the coming months on stv.tv will include a minute-by-minute comprehensive news service which will be boosted by users posting their own stories, sound bites and video clips; and a sports section detailing the latest sports news and top flight football action.

There will be a romantic online dating service and a ‘going out’ section, which will be the ultimate information source for events across Scotland – films, comedy, theatre or concerts. There will also be an exciting new gaming section designed to satisfy Scotland’s evergreen love of bingo and quiz-show based games.

The website will expand over the rest of the year to become an unrivalled, relevant and essential information and entertainment source for people of all ages across Scotland.

Bobby Hain, MD of Scottish TV said: “The creation of stv is an exciting but common sense move for us. The future for stv is not simply one based on TV – the new stv will adapt to the future needs of the Scottish community, offering a range of up-to-date, relevant and enjoyable services. We hope that stv will become the essential source for everyone’s entertainment, information and lifestyle needs.”

Derrick Thomson, MD of Grampian TV said: “Our current on-air look launched in 2000 so the time is right for an update. By creating a single recognisable brand, alongside a successful e-commerce business, we will be well prepared for a fast moving, multi-channel and mobile digital future.”

What a terrible logo, so bland and non-descript. So typical of today.

I must say they could have done better - could have opted for beauty spots throughout Scotland - no shortage of them, and for that matter found some way of keeping the Grampian name, but thankfully they have at least shied completely away from the ITV1 brand name and appearance.

That is perhaps a more apt description of the C3NE logo foisted on Tyne Tees viewers by YTTV nearly a decade ago. After that debacle, any of the current logos are better than THAT one - and in any case the C3NE logo was reportedly designed in an afternoon. Hardly a claim you can level at the new stv ident.
