I thought they might use the football studio but that would have left them with a very tight turnaround and I guess they would need to wipe everything over. Also not sure how much prep MOTD would require before the show.

I think it’s a physical set because of the reflections but could be another VT set up.

The desk looks vaguely familiar but I can’t place where I’ve seen it before.

I must admit I'm surprised considering everything that has been announced this evening that this has been confirmed.

Could be issues with the lower ranked teams in the first round of the FA Cup who may not be professional.
Turns out nobody had 2020 vision.

At least the BBC have had one bit of luck today with the first half finishing about 3 minutes before they are due to change channels.
Turns out nobody had 2020 vision.

They were going slightly overtime on BBC Two.

BBC One has given shortened titles showing Ireland & France symbols before going back into the studio.

Can't be 100% about this, but it appears that the channel got into a pattern of ending after the group completed (which was the pattern every other day) and 'forgot' about the final. Incidentally, it wasn't obvious but there was occasional picture dropout on Matchroom, like something occasionally cut in and out, but they held the last frame so the glitch was less clear.
TBH, FreeSports seem to have a pattern where they just take feeds without really focussing on content, plenty of Ofcom worrying language on bought in programs etc.

Yeah, FreeSports definitely gives off the vibe of "just putting up random feeds without checking things properly". Then again, given the channel is only on paid subscription services, perhaps they don't care enough lol.

As for the picture drop out, if it was a Matchroom thing, I'd have expected some reference to the technical issues from the presenting / commentary team but since no one ever referenced it, I just thought it was a FreeSports issue, but perhaps it was a technical issue at the venue.

Notable how their second big fight weekend (Joshua/Pulev) is not on the platform in the UK, as it’s on Sky Sports Box Office.

Can't imagine Brian Moore will be employed by the BBC for much longer.

Based on this, presumably? https://rugbyonslaught.com/brian-moore-lands-himself-in-hot-water-after-bulimia-joke-live-on-air-during-six-nations-decider/

To answer my own question, it’s from the 2018 World Cup coverage.

As seen here....

It would be an excellent result IMO, if the next Six Nations rights contract sees the BBC stripped of the lot. Let ITV, C4 or C5 divvy the FTA bits between them.

C4 & C5 do a pretty good job of the club rights they share with BT, and (aside from the adverts immediately after the anthems), ITV wipes the floor with BBC six-nations games.

I don't understand this comment, really, saying the Beeb should lose the rights to the Six Nations because you had to switch over at half time in France vs Ireland. It's apparently fine for sport to be behind a paywall, swamped with adverts, a millon miles down the EPG, requiring extra subscriptions or downloading an app, but apparently it's not fine to switch from one channel everyone in the UK has access to, to another channel everyone had access to.
