It's a rapidly changing situation, never mind week to week, it's day to day. Expecting big sports orgs to make these big decisions so far in advance is daft.

Day to day is right. On Wednesday, they announced that Hull City would have fans in the ground for their next match this weekend. Only for that plan to be axed within 24 hours.

The way I write things on Twitter is a bit different to how I write things here, so there's a little advisory for you:

I just had the idea and made a logo for it - No other thoughts about how the channel could behave or anything

II think the people who participate in those gaming competitions tend to refer to them as eSports. And I'm not sure if any of them have really gained traction on linear TV - it's all about Twitch.

A fairly minor rights pickup for Sky but may be of interest to some - they are showing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish college American football home games, which are carried on NBC in the US. Notre Dame is the only US university with its own TV rights contract with a network which has meant that traditionally we wouldn’t have seen much of them on BT Sport ESPN in the past even though they are a giant of the college game.

Don't recall seeing a 'SkyBet' commercial on BT Sport previously, I think they've been blocked before. Any confirmation of this or not?

I think this may be because of the new Sky Media (who sell Sky Bet adverts) / BT Sport agreement?

A while back there was a year or two where Eurosport ended up with the Notre Dame rights, but didn’t pay for the NBC commentary. There didn’t seem to be clean FX available to them, as they had the NBC sound at a very low level (commentary and all) but Mike Carlson commentating over the top of it.

An interesting one for tonight’s match is that it’s actually on USA Network in the States rather than NBC, who are carrying the US Open this year which has moved from Fox.
