BBC Scotland digging out some old Scottish Cup final highlights, keeping everything in 4:3 but placing 16:9 BBC Sport graphics on them.

They probably kept all the original graphics - they just didn't have the score on screen throughout the match back then, or a name caption for people who are interviewed.

All sorts of babbling around today, seems we could be suffering Football overload in the June-Aug period, with 90 odd PL matches, the Championship and some FL1 and L2 matches being televised in June and July, then an almighty European Football bust up in August to end the 2019-20 season in August. The 2021 season starting in Mid September. The FA Cup in the mix too. The issue has to be how many of these will make it FTA.

Strange times, strange solutions. Indeed Government mandated solutions, watch this space.

As has been suggested before, games will most likely be made available to season ticket holders of the clubs involved and available by the one of the current pay broadcasters to subscribers. I imagine that’s the compromise everyone would be able to live with.
