Well that clears up who got first choice. There really should be a caveat in the rights IMO I so replays aren't on the channel that broadcast them.

That wouldn't work at all. If a Manchester derby was the Beeb's first choice and it went to a replay, and the Beeb had first choice replay, no way they wouldn't choose to broadcast it. It would be no service for viewers who didn't have BT.

I proposed this in a thread here at least once before. Still believe it has value and spreads content across the BBC. It would also add some skill in the Broadcaster's first match selection looking at possible draws in their choices looking at potential replays.

Completely different scenario but the Pro12 deal with Sky is structured so they can't take the reverse fixture of a match they've already had.

Ultimately it is all luck of the draw - just like viewers lose out occassionally by the replay pick switching they also would occassionally by not having the reverse fixture, but also on other occassions would benefit. Talking of replays though is it possible BT got the extra match this round due to no quarter final replays this year.

As a result of the replay on BBC One next Tuesday both Holby City & Silent Witness move to Wednesday night and while the BBC have the pick of the 3rd Round the pick of the replays alternate hence Plymouth is on BT Sport.
