Do find it quite odd that in these days of branding consistency the Rugby Championship (and indeed I think Super Rugby) haven't got a consistent look regardless of which country it is broadcast from.
I preferred the internet when it had a sense of humour.

Sky One seems to be getting used more and more for sport - they've had nightly highlights of the Cricket World Cup, and of course simulcast the final. Be interesting to see if they put highlights of The Ashes on it as well.

I think a lot of this is just to prop up the ratings for Sky One and get more new content on the channel.

About ten years ago I remember reading that Sky One were going to start bidding for football rights independently of Sky Sports, because they wanted to pull in more male viewers and they thought that was an effective way to do it. Although I seem to remember it got as far as one Uefa Cup match involving Bolton and that was it.

I wonder why the World Aquatics championships has moved to highlights instead of live coverage - and the first two days of the swimming combined - when ironically two of the moments of the championships have happened today. The finals are all happening Lunchtime UK time - its not reversed like Tokyo will be for the Olympics
That reminds me - how does American Olympics coverage deal with the doping issue considering?

Delighted to see that you’ve switched your attention from the fate of the BBC to FINA!

I have edited my post.
I wonder how they will cover it tomorrow - they will either have to announce the incident or debate his participation and then debate the incident which is awkward as hell on a highlights show.
Also tomorrow sees Jeanette Kwakye host the coverage - promotion from being the trackside report on Atheltics coverage.

Just stop.

It's quite clear the EBU, and other broadcasters worldwide, and FINA are in conflict with each other.

[citation needed]

From the link I posted. The EBU broadcasters have refused to pay for live coverage and sound like they working together to oppose FINA increasing the cost of rights.

FINA have introduced a £25 streaming option for the week as well - but I can't see that having a large take-up. (For an Olympics £25 for everything is just about plasuable but for one sport for a week it's not.)
