Have the BBC still got first pick because if they went for Wolves v Liverpool that seems to go against their strategy of recent years of going for the potential giant kill (Tranmere/Solihull v Tottenham) rather than a non-top six all Premier League tie,

Yes, the BBC have still got first pick, and they also have a giant-killing tie in the shape of the mighty Wrexham.

Man U are picked because there are now six live games on television and when you get down to the sixth pick you're scraping the barrel somewhat.

Was it 4 on BT, 2 on the BBC last year - thought it was three each?

Last year the Beeb had three in the third round, but the year before they had two in the third round but three in the fourth round.

It all seems pretty ad hoc, to be honest - usually the Beeb have two but sometimes they get three, basically. And this is not one of those times. BT have also been given some more matches now there aren't any replays after the fifth round.

New graphics for the Heineken Champions Cup tonight on BT Sport, matching the rebranded competition at last. Presumably they just weren’t ready for rounds 1 & 2.

Edit: the “rugby ball” clock, which I thought was clever but I know was hated by some, is gone in favour of something more conventional.

One thing I’m not liking with the new graphics is that in some places the text is far too small - even on a big TV. The team sheets are the worst offender, even though they otherwise look really nice.

Nothing official yet, but I think this journalist is quite well-placed:

The whole thread is worth a read too, and calls doubt on the future of Eleven Sport in the UK.
