Haha, the big baby! Laughing

All these weather reports stating the South East is worst hit..well not near the coast (which they fail to mention) where we've mainly been having sleet-turned-rain today.

That reminds me of another weather related incident on The Big Breakfast. This was nearer the end while either Vaughnan or Bacon were presenting. I remember the whole living room area and garden being flooded. Does anyone have a clip of this or a better memory than me?

Adrian Chiles is flying solo on the One Show as Christine is stranded in Belfast unable to get a flight.

No doubt the snowfall came along at just the right time for Christine.

that happened when Jonny was presenting, can't remember if it was with Denise or Kelly (or even Lisa) but I think the programme was either late starting or didn't air at all

Besides, this is both severe and unusual weather - certainly for the South East - where the majority of the disruption is.

Snow in winter - how unusual!

*sigh*

Yes Brekkie - as much as it pains you to be incorrect, snow is unusual in the South East.

Absolutely, snow of this magnitude down here is very rare the last time was in 1991 I remember it well. I was only seven, loved all the snow & was so disappointed when it didn't occur again in 1992.

It's only taken 18 years but it's nice to have proper snow back here again in East London Very Happy

Maybe it got flooded more than once. I seem to remember Richard Bacon being the presenter at the time and this site seems to back up that memory (although my memory is spelt better).

The Big Breakfast was almost forced off the air on October 30th 2000 when the house was flooded. Regaurdless the crew battled the water and Richard Bacon donned wellies and presented the show anyway!

I'd usually join in with the whole 'southern bias' agenda. Snow in London gets main national headline, snow in Newcastle gets a brief mention 20 mins in.

But today I think the snow dominating national headlines has been justified as it is widespread across a lot of the country. It may have this opinion though because West Yorkshire had the worst snowfall since 1995

Sky Arts have cancelled a live broadcast of "La Boheme". Ouch, that's got to have cost a packet.

Very expensive. There was to be two OBs at the same time (one on Sky Arts 1 and the other on Sky Arts 2) with at least one of them being in HD.

They plan to try again on Wednesday.

To be honest, I do think its ridiculous all the stuff about shows being changed as a result. If the media didn't have such an ridiculously extreme London bias (i.e. every single live show today was filmed in the capital), they wouldn't have been in such a state this morning. (Soft southern fairies Wink)

Up in Manchester, it was no worse than when we last had a bit of snow in November!

So what programmes were affected then?

This Morning had production staff shortages and was presented solely by Fern Britton. Also used GMTV guests like Lily Allen.

Loose Women was hosted by Denise Welch and had extra new 'loose woman' Penny Smith. Also had a very reduced audience.

The One Show was minus Christine Bleakley.

Were any other programmes affected?
