The biggest fault with the show is the damn audiance. They should fill up the studio and make some noise, not sit in the back and look like ****
TVC6 loooks so tiny! The place is empty and the wide angle lenses just add to the feeling of wasted/spare space!
IMHO they should get TVC1 and fill the floor with 350 (screeming) people. Those audience pods look very Noel's House Party during the last series... the voting idea isn't bad though.
If you ask me they should bring back Otis the Ardvark (rather than just his voice), move to TVC1, add loads of scaffold platforms, get rid of the white cyc., get the audence to make some noise, get some decent cartoons, bring back DoubleDare and finally use that huge screen to better effect (or just give it to BBC News...)
I think the studio should be liek L&Ks was when it was in TVC. Loads of space, audience members everywhere havinga good time, signs of action ine very nook and cranny etc.. When it moved to glasgow it looked hopelessly ****
.
Having the audience sat so far back - like a normal television programme - is a bad idea. Mr Tiny and Mr Duck - well, less said the better. House band is a neat idea but the studio looks so tiny and bare without the audience mingling in. Nah, if I'm awake, it'll be SMTV - and Ant's girlfriend 'Dave'

Yep, me too, I wasn't awake this morning to see, but I'll be sticking with SM:TV.
The BBC lost it with morning television at some point, because I alwasy used to watch BBC1 on Saturday mornings, but wouldn't now.
BBC Lost it with saturday mornings when Zoe and Jamie left L&K. Sunday mornings were good with the second incarnation of fully booked (the first hotel based morag the cow incarnation was ****
) but sadly that stopped in 1999.
So, this was the show that was supposed to re-invent Saturday morning TV ?
The thing is that SM:TV now leads the way because it works on so many levels, the kids love it and so do the adults.
Those puppets are a bad idea, when will the BBC realise that puppets are not the way forward, that's so 80's. Kids these days are a bit more demanding.
The Saturday Show is unoriginal, looks like a tired formula, the audience doesn't work, the cartoons are weird, and the presenters are poor. Where as SM:TV just gets better, I love Cat the Dog, she's so funny.

Not wanting to be too controversial - but I think the puppets are the Beebs idea of widening the age range, in attempt to appeal to a younger audience than SMTV/CDUK appeals to.
Personally I still find Gordon the gopher funny - but that is cos he behaved a bit like an adult at times! (Certainly 'said' things that none of the other presenters could have got away with...)
I thought Dani was much better than I was expecting, and Joe Mace was as good as he is on UK Play and the odd Liquid News. In fact both of them were quite a lot better than I feared. I particularly like the idea of Joe not being nice to the kids all the time (especially in the Sumo competition)
Not sure that the format works that well, though some of the ideas are quite good. Karaoke and NTV have been done before, but they were done quite well this morning. Didn't like the cartoons that much (bring back Pole Position...)
Agree that the set is a bit un-Saturday morning like - and a bit too much like SMTV/CDUK.
I'll give it a few weeks before passing judgement - after all does anyone remember quite how awful the early SMTV/CDUKs were?!
That said - SMTV/CDUK is a very tough act to beat. The benefit of having such versatile presenters (part actor, part comedian, part performer, part presenter) is huge. And as Nicky said - Chums is almost without equal (though Trev and Simon are the closest the Beeb have come)
The Saturday Show was just whole load of game shows mixed into one. There were only two chances for viewers to interact and no viewers question were asked. The Show needs some comedy and I hate the way the audience are seated. This programme was made by the same man who created SMTV. Anyone notice that it was produced by the same team that made the last series of Live and Kicking in London.

Although there's no involvement by Chris Bellinger who has produced every winter BBC Saturday morning show for the last 20 years.
I agree with noggin - I think Gordon the Gopher is one of the greatest television stars of all time! (Closely followed by Trevor and Simon).
I was presently suprised by the sat show, presentational wise it wasn't too bad, but it didn't seem like a children's prog, which it should be. As a public service broadcaster saturday mornings should have a bit more of an educational value (like having more serious quests which L&K and Going Live! did feature) As long as the series is successful BBC should not worry too much about ratings. Sod whether adults like it saturday mornings are made by the BBC Childrens department for children!!
I think the series has potential but a few comps that are not just stupid multiple choice questions, and bring back the phone in's etc....
But it seems that it will just contain soapstars and pop stars.... comeback chris Bellinger!!!
