The saturday show has started if you are watching what do you think so far, do you think it will take off, do do you think it will grab the ratings from SM:TV Live.
I have only watched the first 2 minutes so far and it is lively but i think the titles are ****
, I like the male presenter (i dont know his name but i do know he is on TOTP @ PLAY and TOTP + PLUS.)
The titles were nothing special, and first impressions are that this is trying desperately hard to be funny, but failing on all counts. Danni Behr is wooden, Joe Mace is ok but I've always found him annoying on UK Play. The house band are annoying me, always becoming involved every 5 minutes. I don't think SM:TV need to be that worried.

A lot of people were slagging the show off before it even started so I tried to reserve judgement until I had seen any of it.
My first impressions are a bit mixed. Dani Behr is fine, but I always did fine Joe Mace a bit annoying, and something is up with his voice this morning, or is it just me?
I really don't think the band works, especially the 'stand up' thing they do, that's really very cheesy and cringe-making. It's a bit of a departure from past Saturday shows on the BBC at least... the studio is very.. empty! That's the first thing that strikes me. Also not so keen on the way the audience is all at the back in groups.
The titles are ok, but I'd seen them already mostly in trailers about the show. The actual features they have advertised, well it all seems a bit lacklustre.
Since it's the first ever show, then I think it's fair to give it time to improve and evolve but the way it is now, SMTV shouldn't be too worried.
Let's not forget, as most people never watched it until it improved, SMTV wasn't exactly perfect to start with when it had the guitar CDUK music with 'wake up, it's saturday' chanted in the background.
I have the first on tape, and it's changed alot. It would take a few months before The Saturday Show could be deemed as being a worthy contender.
I know we should give it time but I have to say that I don't think SM:TV have that much to worry about.
The idea of surprising people at home is straight out of Noel's House Party and I'm sure one of the new puppets is the same voice as Otis ....
how can that compete with a star studded Chums and all the groups on CD:UK .....

And I thought the last series of Live and Kicking was bad... The Saturday Show feels to me more like the dodgy summer filler like Fully Booked or The 8.15 from Manchester.
Bring back Saturday Superstore or Going Live, that's what I say!
(And I see they've half-inched NTV from Noel's House Party)

The annoying thing is the BBC already had a format that worked and been highly successful for a quarter of a century. It's sad that they've felt forced to throw it all away in order to compete with PJ and Duncan on the other side, and end up being even worse than them.

The biggest fault with the show is the damn audiance. They should fill up the studio and make some noise, not sit in the back and look like ****
.
Joe and the woman are good and the idea of the band is good, just fill the studio and get a good audiance.
p.s
One of the puppets is the otis the ardvark (how you spell it) man.
