Having not yet seen the film, I notice the trailer shows the Martyn Lewis news clip, complete with /B/B/C/ logo. Wonder if there was any reason why they didn't go with ITN's announcement (or are more clips shown in the film?)

There is very little of the BBC's coverage included in the film. The only other bit of BBC footage used is Jenny Bond's famous quote that it was if the British public and the Royal Family had had a falling out that week but that they were already making up.

I thought it was unrealistic that you could make a film about that week and not include more of Ms Bond's coverage, as she was never off our screens.

I'm surprised "The Queen" is being trailed as an ITV Drama Premiere, rather than a Movie Premiere. I know it was made
by Granada International, but it was, was it not, a very successful cinematic movie, rather than a made for TV drama?

Driving Lessons with Julie Walters which had a cinema release just months prior to appearing on ITV1 received similar treatment, film productions where the company have had some involvement go out as "Drama Premieres" on the channel itself.

Maybe it's to do with the sponsor, Drama Premieres get the more prestigious Sainsburys sponsorship whereas movies go in and out of breaks with those moustached 118 idiots.

Knowing ITV, they'll most probably have the "ITV Productions" caption appear at the end of the movie's broadcast.

The original idea was to produce/broadcast The Queen as an ITV Drama (TV Movie) but the changes were made through the production to make a cinema relase.

I'll try and remember.

Interesting they're billing it as an ITV drama premiere.

Weekend itv is getting fabber again. Take tonight i'll be viewing ITV or ITV2 till about 10 o clock. and tomorrow we have all the omnibuses. I'm easily pleased me. Now don't forget to remind me next week. Cheers chaps and chapesses.
I thought that they would have played this one a bit later in the year like September/October when viewing generally goes up.

Surely it's scheduling has been determined by going out the equivalent weekend 10 years ago of Diana's death ?

I didn't think of that, good point. It'll get a massive rating no doubt about that.
