South Today
The South's and South-East's (merge together) is "on the road" every week. I think it's a real shame. It would be good to see the South Today or South East Today studio in a different light. Very Happy

The BBC Wales opt-out is broadcast from the BBC's studio in the National Assembly builidng in Cardiff Bay, which is used for other political programmes on the BBC and S4C, but not the News.

The studio just part of the newsroom with a curtain that seperates the two, which the BBC have at the Assembly (along with a small gallery and a couple of radio studios.)

BBC South West's offering is presented by Sophie Long, and comes from Spotlight's studio in Plymouth. The studio is "tarted up" significantly, and looks nothing like Spotlight at all. The view from the "window" is also different, and better.

This all strikes me as strange, because while Spotlight is going out seven days a week, the Politics Show goes out to a small audience on a Sunday lunchtime. Yet the studio looks so much better!

There may be some regions that merge - like East and West Midlands, and South and South East - and I don't think any sub-regions (like Oxford, Cambridge, Jersey or Hull) split.

Will East Yorks/Lincs get their own version of the Politics Show when the new Queen's Gardens facilities open?

Doubt it, especially if East & West Midlands have to share.

Anyway, AFAIK the weekend bulletins will still be pan reigon even after both moves in Leeds/Hull

What I heard was that we'll be getting seperate weekend shows, but lunchtimes would still be pan-regional, is this not the case? InTune, care to rejoin and set the record straight?

Well I can't exactly remember, it might be that way round! It's a while since I heard and plans may have changed...

The Northern Ireland opt-out (hosted by Jim Fitzpatrick) comes from a similar set as the national set, and the two large screens are used to create a panoramic view of Belfast, certainly looks well polished.
