Did anyone find The Pitts (ITV1 Saturday), even mildly amusing? What is ITV's reasoning for showing this? Do they actually think it's a potential hit?

Well it the title of the show is a built-in gag anyway.

How did this show do in America, any USA members know?

Rather than resurrect all sorts of bad memories about this show, here's what people said about it on IMDB. Doesn't look good, folks.

It seems a strange purchase by ITV then. Did they get it for free?!

The Mail's TV guide said it was good. That was why I didn't watch.

ITV's schedules are dreadful. If JM was here I'm sure he'd tell you all about how instead of showing Night and Day - a very good British soap - they showed a dreadful American import at 10.35 and put NaD on really late.

I actually found it kind of amusing, better than some of the American imports they've had in the past. ITV and US imports don't really go together all that well, it's all a far cry from the days of LA Law and Baywatch, perhaps ITV's most succesful imports.

aww - Baywatch Hawai is currently on Sky Travel.

You know when you think a show is bad and you watch it again and it isn't really that dreadful. Well Baywatch is just so much worse than you remember it being. Although fun to watch so you can laugh at the dreadful acting of the people who fall off cliffs or boats.

Well I thought that I'll never see the day when a show made by Fox is shown on ITV.

I saw it and frankly I didn't find it too good, there was the odd good one liner, the stuff about the exorcism and the boy being sick at the beginning was slightly funny, but the point is that it is supposed to be OTT.

ITV are better off if they don't buy in sitcoms for two reasons, the first in this case, they are sh*te or that they get treated really badly, as there was one last year which went out at 11.00pm on a Thursday, or even later where ever you were and apparently that one was good, same with Veronica's Closet, that was alright but they only showed that overnight.

Plus this new show comes from a couple of people who write for The Simpsons at the moment, and frankly The Simpsons (New episodes) are sh*te again, as the plotlines are OTT and unbelievable.

Plus I never ever want to see an ugly fat woman in sexy clothing ever again, it was enough to make you switch off frankly. It's something which is more suited to Nickelodeon or The Disney Channel, but not Fox or ITV. Why can't ITV put Sabrina on teatime on a saturday like they used to, as that was alright.

God Sabrina at tea time. Wasnt this at the same time that BBC One had the Simpsons early on a saturday night?

Yep...
Oct' 96 - Sabrina launched on ITV Saturday evenings circa 1745
Jan '97 - Clueless launched on ITV Saturday evenings circa 1720
(replaced in GP weeks by Murray & Martin's F1 Specials)
Autumn '97 - Sabrina and Clueless demoted to CiTV.

Re: Pitts - I think it's good! I saw an interview with one of the stars in a US magazine I bought some months ago and have been looking out for the show.
Next episode is this Sunday at 1830 not Saturday (YBF in Saturday slot)
