I'm surprised nobody mentioned that just before the 'JS:Panaorma Special' on Monday, BBC One HD was
sans
the usual pesky red information screen about switching to 101/1 etc during regional broadcasts (well, here in the South West).
I thought the silent rotating glass 'BBC Blocks' were a permanent replacement, in view of the imminent launch of the 'national versions' and end of analogue.
Obviously I was wrong, as the red 'warning' returned at 06:27 on 23/10/12.
The 'blocks' have just been explained elsewhere on here . . .
Meh!

The 'Nations Clean' version of BBC One play out the spinning blocks in place of junctions. At the end of a programme, it'll hold on the last item for three seconds after the end time (often the endcap or a fade to black), then cut up the spinning blocks until three seconds before the next programme - which will normally be black, but not always.
