As the old thread is now archived, I thought I'd start up a thread on The One Show again.

Has anyone else noticed the hideous update they've done to the set? I thought that it might be temporary but it's looking more and more like a permanent change.

The floor is now a bronze / gold colour which looks unbelievably cheap and too distracting. They've also added extra LED strips hanging from the ceiling. The problem is that they're so close to the sofas, you can see the hooks used to hang them up. It all looks really bodged and looked so much smarter before. Fair enough if they wanted to update the set after being in there for three years but this looks really rushed and tacky (plus as if they've left half of the Christmas set dressing still up!)

To make it even worse, last week they had a wide shot that they kept cutting to which showed that it doesn't even cover the floor evenly. I still hope it's temporary but I'm worried that after four weeks, they seem to be set on keeping it.

That's exactly what they've done. The gold flooring and icicle lights were put up with their Christmas decorations. They obviously must have liked those bits and decided to keep them.

I have a feeling by time the nights are lighter, then especially the reflective gold flooring would look quite hideous. It still doesn't look great right now.

The LED light strips look even more hideous close up on the main presenter shot they use.

It looks like as if Graham Norton moved to hosting his show on Sky News. Yuck.
