Just saw that Chris Evans wants Gavy Roslin with him on the one show friday edition.

Hmm - I think that's been spun. The reports I've read are that Chris Evans didn't say he wouldn't want Gaby to present the show with him when it was offered to him as a suggestion in an interview - which is far from the same thing. (If he did it would be hugely insulting to someone he worked with for many years)

It's quite a nice idea though. Getting an established presenting couple in cuts out a lot of the work on building up a rapport between two presenters.

According to Digital Spy its down to Tess Daly, Angelica Bell or Kate Silverton.

My money would be on Tess so they can kick her off SCD when her contracts up.

"The Strictly Come Dancing host is competing for the position against current One Show reporter Angellica Bell and BBC newsreader Kate Silverton, says The Sun ."

The Sun, eh? Last week they were saying that Zoe Ball, Lisa Snowdon and Louise Redknapp were the frontrunners. A pinch of salt is needed here perhaps.

Finally decided to join the forum after visiting for a while now! So be patient with me if I get it all wrong!

Surprised at the Angelica Bell rumours, would have thought she would have ruled herself out by lowering herself to ITV's "The Zone" aka QVC.

What about Anita Rani quite good at live tv and can imagine would handle the jokey/serious aspects quite well!

I imagine they'll go for a "presenter" rather than a "journalist".

TBH the new host of the one show if its someone with in is going to have to have some sort of journlisitc /magazine background because jason doesent so mylene shouldant be in the front running Kate and Jason wouldant warm in my view Angelica isent popular enough so them rumours aint happnin .

a daily mail report saids there not gonna have any GMTV Cast offs ie, Crosby and Smith

so who do we have Left
. Fern brittan - ex on this morning and worked with jason at As seen on tv popular and a mum type of figure perfect for tea time tv .

. Katie Derham- Joins the bbc to front the proms but could also host the show she has plenty of experience hosting london tonight and itv news at 1:30 .

. Gabby Logan - already fronts a similar type of show at 5Live the bbc can keep within and she has interviewed a wide a ray of guests

It's hardly a hard-hitting investigative show though is it.

I don't think it does any harm though to feature a presenter with at least a bit of a journalistic background for some of the more serious issues. Even just for the interviewing skills they may have. I think that journalistic element gives the programme more credibility.

That's why its such a difficult choice of co-presenter - someone who can balance the 'news' element with the more light-hearted segments. Perhaps someone from a breakfast television programme. Oh, wait . . .

The problem is the agenda of the programme, it can be expected to deal with serious topics when events dictate. Appointing Manford dictates a serious partner is required, UNLESS the programme agenda is to be skewed, which might be what's in hand.

Christine Bleakley doesn't have any journalism background though does she?
