Some shows have to be edited to be put on iPlayer (to remove content that the BBC doesn't have internet streaming and/or download rights for) - and this can mean they are delayed in appearing.
In some cases, where re-versioning the show is not possible, then the entire episode may not appear.
(Usual examples are non-sports programmes containing sports footage when they have a sporting guest on the show)
I've only caught The One Show a few times since jason & Alex took over, but I have to say the programme is still as good as it ever was.
However, I have caught it a couple of times with Alex presenting with Matt Baker, and I also have to say that I think Matt is the perfect presenter for the show. such a shame he wasn't given it permanently, he's very watchable and knows how to do the gear changes in the shows items. I saw it when Edna Everage was the guest and he handled her better than Alex did.
I think the BBC missed a trick by going for Jason over Matt??
Although of course Jason was brought in to be a co-presenter for Christine so the circumstances when he was appointed were different.
Have to say I agree, think Jason's good but Matt is also very good - he seems to have presented on Thursday the past two weeks?
I'm still not sure about Alex - she seems competent but still lacking some of the warmth of Christine, I sometimes get the impression she's moved on to the next item in her head and isn't paying full attention to what the guest is saying. But I suppose it's still early!
She looks so much like Christine I find myself double-taking when I happen to tune in.
Is their studio particularly hot? I saw Jason Donovan sweating through his makeup the other night. I would have thought the studio was lit in fluorescent and LED fixtures (judging by the look), so why so many sweaty Bettys?

That's because the recordings of 8 Out of 10 Cats are on Thursday nights - they do 1 topical and 1 non-topical a week so it won't be for the whole series

This might be off-topic but maybe not. I have noticed that Jason Manford hardly speaks in the two episodes of 8 Out of 10 Cats I have seen recently. I wonder if he is being careful in what he says now that he is a more mainstream presenter and therefore a lot of his stuff isn't as funny and ends up getting edited out of the final programme.

Ah - thought it might be something like that, cheers for the info.
Have to say I'm wondering what the point of Chris Evans on a Friday is actually - the show doesn't seem hugely different. Or am I missing something!?
Also presumably he's not on this week as he's at the Ryder Cup.

Wasn't the point originally that Chris on Friday was going to lead a more "entertainment" based One Show - with a focus on celebs and the like? From what I've seen so far I think that must have been ditched as there is the same mix of stories as ever. Suppose it works well from Jason's point of view as it means he gets that extra day to tour with his stand up.

It is a bit more upbeat and silly, they do those odd 'experiments' and Chris and Alex in a package outside of the studio. I think the idea is to give it a 'start of the weekend' feel, but they've not got there quite yet.
Of course the plan originally was to have a different presenter on a Friday was because Adrian Chiles was going to do a Friday night chat show, and couldn't do both
I don't like what they have done to the studio, in terms of lighting, in recent weeks. Since the show came back off their summer break, the coloured strips/tubes/bars/blocks that make up the set behind the presenters, were nice warms colours that complimeted what is left for us to see outside. Recently however, the colours have changed to reds, blues, purple which looks quite intrusive imo. I hope they brings back the orange, yellow, green scheme that the show had until late.
